Coastal a Cappella has over 40 members who rehearse weekly on a Wednesday night at The Erina Centre, Erina Fair (near the Library). We usually rehearse from 7.00-9.30pm and our members travel from all over the Central Coast.
The focus of the chorus is on music education and performance - and we take our music and our fun seriously!
You don't need to be able to read music to audition for membership, although it's an advantage, just a pleasant in-tune voice that can hold your part, and the ability and enthusiasm to learn!
Rehearsals include physical and vocal warmups, learning new songs, working on small sections of our current repertoire, vocal production, body movement and expression, and preparing for any upcoming performances, small singouts or competitions.
We sing 4-part acappella harmony:
- Tenor, the highest, sweetest part!
- Lead, the important main melody!
- Baritone, those clever folk who love to sing harmonies!
- Bass, for women with resonant lower voices!
If you’d like to find out more about singing with us, please Contact us so we can invite you to attend one of our rehearsals.
